Dr. Ghaith Alfakhry
A dentist turned medical educationalist and the Founder & CEO of AMES, dedicated to reforming Syria’s medical education system. He holds an MSc in Education (Research Design and Methodology) from Oxford University funded by Chevening Scholarship and an MSc in Medical Education from the Syrian Virtual University. He has published research extensively in the area of medical education, and have presented at international conferences such as BARDES, ASME and AMEE.
AMES Founder
Founded AMES in response to the urgent need to rebuild Syria’s medical education system amid institutional collapse and crisis. With extensive academic and clinical experience in Syrian institutions, launched AMES as a national initiative to unify educators, support learners, and enhance quality and accountability in training. Through research, dialogue, and collaboration, AMES aspires to build a modern, inclusive, and resilient framework for health professional education in Syria.
